..so nun ist es soweit. die groben arbeiten liegen hinter uns. uns? ja .. ich meine mein Tape von 1977 und mich.
\nes läuft. es spielt mit einem doch beachtlichen klang. kleinere probleme sind noch zu lösen, wie z.b. die Rec-Mute taste und der aufnahme pegel muss neu eingemessen werden und naja…manchmal hört es beim rückspulen einfach auf… :wink_ee:
\nansonsten, (fast) wie neu.
\nich denke anfang 2oo7 lüppt es dann, es ist wirklich ein absolutes sammlerstück. die besonderheit dieses tapes liegt in seiner anzeige, welche durch flüssigkristalle bestückt ist. allein für dieses display würde manch einer seine oma überfallen :smirk2_ee:<\/p>\n

Massive chunk of steel, inheriting the EL decks’ transport panel and the then-new (and very large) LCD display. The “closed-loop\/dual-capstan” hadn’t yet been transplanted from the big RtR to the cassette decks and the “rec-mute” button still was a side-function…<\/p>\n

As the “B” moniker suggests (B for “black”), there must have been a silver version (TC-K8) but, if there was, it is extremely rare. Like on a few other Sony units from the same era, the color was specified in the service manual but not on the unit itself ; therefore a japanese “bronze” TC-K8B will be named… TC-K8. Why make simple?<\/p>\n

Some internal views of a TC-K7B can be found here<\/a>. Apart from the meters and very marginally better specs, TC-K8B = TC-K7B. And if I’m not mistaken, the motor for the K7 and K8 was shared by some ’77\/78 Aiwa units as well.<\/p>\n
